I requested to staff before booking I wanted a room with view & as high as possible due to disability New years eve. I was told a corner room would give great views.$1200 later for one night when we arrived was very unhappy. Room was 5th story . View of city road. Was then informed oh no you have to walk for view. Ruined new years eve for a family of 1 with 3 kids.
After ordering dinner $201 was rung & order not available. So no dinner and days for refund.
Worst experience ever. Over priced and very average. Would never recommend
We had a great stay for 8 days at Shadow Play, staff was very professional and the breakfast was quite good. The only thing to consider when booking in summer is bedrooms have no air-conditioning or ducts the main air-conditioning vent is in the living area. We were lucky as the weather in Melbourne was cold, even when we visited in December, so didn't require the aircon as such. Apart from that great place with to stay as very central to all amenities

The room itself is spacious, complete with a kitchen, balcony, two bedrooms, an ample bathroom and filled with amenities.
If you're not in the mood for an alcoholic drink, I definitely recommend the Blood Orange Soda at Edwin downstairs - delicious!
Pool towels are on request at reception, and the pool, sauna, steam room, and gym are located on level 9. The pool also features lounge areas for those warm days (or nights).
I'd definitely stay here again!

Well priced rooms with easy access to Southbank and Melbourne city. The most comfortable beds we have slept in in a motel in Australia for a long time. Very well designed rooms with nothing left out for a self-sufficient stay. Disappointed we didn't get to eat here.
Gym well fitted out.

Went away for a weekend. Found the ammenity in the rooms to be excellent. Close to Southbank and easy walk. Trams out the front if you want to catch them around town. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was great.
Amazing 2 bedroom 2 bathroom absolutely can not fault the rooms or the service. Special shout out to Maddy at reception such a beautiful soul and ever so friendly. The staff are all helpful and nothing is ever too much. I don’t recommend …
